More for You
With two new columns and more
valuable giveaways, WIFM is
continuing to answer with aplomb that
piercing question: What’s in it For Me?
Pierre Gagnaire launches our new
People column. The classy French chef with a taste for Michelin
stars shares his lifestyle with us on page 17.
And for the latest on new product styles, see our other new
column on page 24, Design. From shoes to watches, and
camera to teapot, there are some very nice creations out there if
you look — and we found some we thought you’d like.
Whatever it is — food, drink, books, leisure — it always
feels better for free, so they say. So help yourself to our everexpanding
freebie list inside, including top event tickets such
as for the Royal Ballet’s Mayerling, fine French cuisine on exotic
river cruises, crafted & classic beer mugs, audio guided tours of
Tokyo, and even a Moscow circus dinner and show. As always,
winners will be picked at random.
Spring is about staying out of bed a bit longer — eating,
drinking, sightseeing and shopping, all popular activities that
long or cold winters often curtail.
As the June bride is a global phenomenon, we feature the
best spots to tie the knot in Tokyo in our cover story, although if
you have left it this late you are probably rushing things for this
year and I won’t ask why.
If road testing Triumph’s latest classic monster, the 1597cc
Thunderbird, is not your cup of tea (page 37), then how about
one of the city’s all-you-can-eat buffets (page 34)? How they
make a profit from these Viking-like spreads is beyond me, but
perhaps not everyone is as greedy as I am. No longer exclusively
for special occasions, cheapskates, and the less discerning,
even buffet snobs have to admit the general quality has gone
way up in recent years, while prices have remained steady.
